Smashbox 是 Max Factor 的曾孫 Dean Factor 和 Davis Facotr 兩兄弟於1991年成立。Smashbox Studios 開始是幫模特兒 、流行雜誌拍照。由於攝影時的強烈燈光常讓拍照的模特兒，經常產生妝溶的狀態。
